The Gathering

THE GATHERING 2009

I just learnt about this yesterday, The Gathering is one of the largest computer/LAN parties ever to be held in the world each year. It's always held at Norway which allowed each participant to have an computer and can do whatever they wan at that computer station. There's also some arcade machines stations and an Guitar Hero station. They would also have an StepMania competition at The Gathering which features the world's StepMania champions to participate and dominate one another. The Gathering is an 5 days event, which means the computers would be on for 24 hours for 5 days straight, participants can choose to sleep anytime they wan and game anytime they want. There were 5000 participants at The Gathering 2009 and their internet speed was extremely fast, 3MB/s is god-like and all of the computers there were gaming computers with gaming keyboards and mouse. Damn, I wanna participate in The Gathering but too bad I live in Singapore...
